Our volunteer tutors aim to provide something for everyone. They organise a wide variety of classes, such as crafts, art, singing, writing, languages, information technology, games, recorder playing, travel talks, excursions, and many single session classes.
Our Tutors are the leaders in their classes: • They may contribute their knowledge of a subject such as language. • They may set the scene for members to contribute their ideas e.g. writing • They have members teach others the skills they have, as in craft.
If you are interested we invite you visit our Courses page, which lists the classes currently on offer, and provides details. The annual cost of membership is currently $50, which entitles you enroll in many classes, if the class has vacancies. Volunteers are indispensable in U3A Sunraysia, and you can offer to help: • People with special interests and skills can offer to tutor or lead classes • Setting up classrooms and morning/afternoon teas. • Administration tasks and/or committee membership. • Why is this worldwide organisation called “University of the Third Age”? We are modelled on the very earliest universities where a group of tutors and scholars met to exchange ideas and information. We certainly don’t award degrees or diplomas, nor do we have exams. There are over 100 U3As in Victoria, ranging from 50 to 2000 members.
