New Members

Membership Fee

Financial members pay a fee of $50 for the full calendar year, which entitles them to enroll in multiple classes, if there is a vacancy in the desired class. A few classes require an additional fee to cover costs associated with the class.

Members joining for term 4 pay the full fee, and are entitled to financial membership until the end of the following year.

Payment of Fees

One of the following

  • By direct credit to our bank account  (details are provided)
  • By cheque posted to us, or brought to our office.
  • By cash at our office at he Masonic Centre in Irymple.

We do not accept credit or debit cards, nor do we use PayPal.

Opportunity to Volunteer

When new members are registering, or existing members are reviewing their personal data in our records, there is an opportunity to indicate your willingness to help – everything that happens at U3A is done by volunteers.

Areas of need: Tutoring or leading classes, Committee member, assist tutors, classroom preparation and/or morning/afternoon teas (in your own class). Computer skills are particularly valuable.

Newsletters are prepared and distributed before the end of each term.

  • If preferred, one printed newsletter will be posted to each member household.
  • Alternatively, a full colour version can be downloaded from the Newsletter page of this website.
  • We can also send you an email to which we attach a pdf version.

The second and third methods are quicker, and save paper, printing costs, and postage.

Online Registration

If you are happy to register online, click the  button at the top of the page to start the process. After registering online, you will receive an email detailing your member number, and thanking you for registering. You will then be able to login and enroll in classes. Once enrolled, an invoice is prepared which includes details of the payment methods available.

If you prefer to use the traditional paper enrollment form, latest newsletter, and course selection form please contact our office – Please contact us by email (under Contact on the right of this page) or directly by Phone on the Contacts page.

You can receive the paperwork either by collecting it from our rooms (by arrangement), or receiving it by post (the slowest method, these days)
